Software Distribution Portal is blank

Description

 

The Software Portal on a client machine is blank. There are no items to show for download. The machine has several policies that should be showing or have showed in the past and they are missing.

 

Cause

 

Cause One:

On the client machine the policy.sync.log is showing a hash mismatch to an XML file and will not download..

 

Cause Two:

On the client machine the XML file is missing from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\landesk\files

 

Cause Three:

The XML file is corrupted. On the core the IIS logs showing /. for the download of an XML file for the policy.

 

Cause Four:

Missing client side files from agent installation that are necessary to create the list in the portal.

 

Resolution

 

Resolution to Cause One:

Find the matching XML file number reference on the core under \managementsuite\landesk\files and reset the hash for the package that is referenced.  There is an engineering request number 22154 in place to resolve this issue and prevent a single XML issue from not loading all other available policy downloads. When the patch becomes available this article will be updated.

 

Resolution to Cause Two:

On the client machine copy the missing XML to the directory from the core directory \managementsuite\landesk\files. There is an engineering request number 22154 in place to resolve this issue and prevent a single XML issue from not loading all other available policy downloads. When the patch becomes available this article will be updated.

 

Resolution to Cause Three:

On the core server delete all the XML files listed under \managementsuite\landesk\files. You will then need to restart the tasks. This will recreate all the files again and clear up any corruption. There is an engineering request number 22154 in place to resolve this issue and prevent a single XML issue from not loading all other available policy downloads. When the patch becomes available this article will be updated.

 

Resolution to Cause Four:

Ensure that when installing the client wscfg32.exe can download the web files from ..\program files\landesk\management suite\ldlogon\policyweb.
