When you create a new distribution packages, there is an error message popup.

Reason
There is a global settings of the Default package location, using the FQDN.
Resolution
Make sure the FQDN can be resolved correctlly. Or use the host name/IP address.
Steps:
1. Open the Distribution packges
2. Click the tool bar 'configure settings' | 'Package settings'
3. Set the default package location to be correct. For example: http://coreservername/landesk/files
